Pilates Workshops


Introduction to the Pilates Equipment
Explore the various pieces of equipment; reformers, chairs, barrels, and towers as well as some of the archival foot work. You’ll get a better understanding of what a Pilates private session is all about and what kinds of exercises are done in the Tower and Stretch and Springs classes! Participants will be taking turns on some of the equipment, but everyone will get a chance to try what they feel comfortable with.

Pilates Barrels Workshop
Explore the various barrels; ladder barrel, small barrel and spine corrector. These tools are great for lifting and opening your hips and upper body, working on your extensions and of course finding your powerhouse (core!). Previous Pilates experience is not required.

Pilates Chair Workshop
Find out about about the origins of the Pilates Wunda Chair and High Chair! Get hands-on instruction as you learn the exercises and variations that can be done on these little “wundas”. See how the chair helps to engage your abs and get your powerhouse moving! Previous Pilates experience is helpful, but not required. Not recommended for those clients with chronic back, shoulder, or balance issues.

Pilates Kicking Workshop for Swimmers
Join us in the Pilates studio where we will work on techniques for improving your kicking! Get a great workout as we strengthen the abs, hips and glutes. Learn to lengthen through the spine, pull from the back and kick from the hips. Discover how the Pilates method is the missing link in your dry land training!
