Member Parking Lot Closure
Swedish Hospital's COVID-19 testing tent will resume operating in the Galter LifeCenter member parking lot beginning Monday, January 10. Member parking will be closed until further notice.

Please be mindful of snow route parking on Foster, neighborhood permits and other restrictions when using street parking. Members can get a validated parking ticket for use in the Swedish Hospital parking garage at the Courtesy Desk.

Proof of Vaccine Required
Please have your vaccination card ready to present to the Courtesy Desk each time you enter the facility. Effective January 3, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for anyone 5 years or older at all fitness centers in Chicago, including Galter LifeCenter. This applies to anyone entering the facility regardless of membership status.

Save time by submitting your proof of vaccination to our Membership Office via email at Membership@schosp.org

Valid forms of verification include:

  • Valid photo ID (age 16+) -and-
  • Vaccination Card
  • Photocopy of vaccination card
  • Digital record or app -or-
  • Printed record from vaccine provider

Fully vaccinated is defined as 2 weeks post receiving your second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or a single dose of the J&J vaccine.

We are committed to making this process as automated as possible and will be updating our records to keep your proof of vaccination on file. Please understand that this is a manual process and will take some time to be entered into our system. You must continue to show your proof of vaccination each visit until we have finalized this process.

If you are not vaccinated, these are your options:

  • You can put your membership on hold for up to 6 months for $10 a month
  • You can switch to our Virtual Membership option for $35 a month
  • You can cancel your membership
  • Get vaccinated! Visit the Swedish Hospital Vaccine Clinic, appointment recommended.

Please note that your membership will remain active and you will continue to be billed. If you do not wish to be billed you must contact the Membership Department to cancel your membership.

Virtual Group Fitness Updates
Beginning in January 2022 we will have a new streamlined process for signing up and joining our Virtual Group Fitness classes. 

Register for virtual classes up to a week in advance on the My Wellness member portal. If you have never logged in to My Wellness use the Helpful Resources below to help you get started.

How to sign up for classes:

  • Log into My Wellness.
  • Click on the Class Schedule. It is helpful to filter the Class Schedule by the class date and category. All of the Virtual Group Fitness classes are listed under the Virtual category regardless of class type. 
  • Click on the class you would like to attend and follow prompts to enroll.
  • Once you enroll in a class it will appear on your dashboard in the Upcoming Classes window.

When it is time to join your virtual class you must:

  • Log into My Wellness.
  • Click on the class in the My Upcoming Classes window, or go to My Calendar to display the information needed to join.
  • Use the “Click to Join” button to join.

Please note the “Click to Join” button will not be displayed until 10 minutes before start time.

 Classes and Services 

  • Group Fitness – We offer a wide variety of land and water group fitness classes all included with membership. Now including 40+ weekly Virtual Group Fitness classes! 
  • One-on-one services – We offer in-person and virtual Personal TrainingPilates and Integrative Therapy appointments.
  • Small group training – We offer a small group training options including; TRX, Barre, 3D30, Masters Swimming and more! 

 

 Visit Guidelines 

  • Online reservations for Group Fitness classes and pool lanes are available 72 hours in advance through the My Wellness portal.
  • Reservations are available over the phone and in person 48 hours in advance through the Courtesy Desk.
  • Pool lane reservations are limited to one hour per day. Please note that pool reservations are in high demand. If you can no longer attend a reservation time please cancel your reservation using our My Wellness portal. Additionally, please refrain from registering for more than one aqua group fitness class per day.
  • The West Therapy Pool, Dry Sauna and Whirlpools are open. These amenities are available without a reservation. Please be mindful of the capacity and time restrictions posted.
  • When attending classes that use equipment please try to arrive a couple minutes early to set up and wipe down your equipment before the class starts.
  • Utilize the green dots on the floors of the studios as a guide when setting up your equipment to allow for social distancing.
  • Wipe down and put away your equipment after use.

 

 Safety Protocols 

We will continue to work with our infection control team at Swedish Hospital as well as monitor government developments and requirements to continue to offer you services in the safest manner.

  • If you feel sick, stay home.
  • Masks are required to be worn at all times. Please wear your mask upon arrival and ensure that it covers your mouth and nose. Masks may only be removed temporarily to drink, shower and during lap swimming.
  • Please use the hand sanitizer when you enter and exit treatments rooms and studios.
  • All visitors have their temperature taken with a touchless thermometer. If your temperature is 100.4 F or higher you will not be allowed to enter the facility.
