"I love screen printing and sewing, thrifting, giving and receiving bodywork!"

Philosophy that drives my work:

"'Approach With Love.' This idea came to me in the little pink painted room with scroll-y wrought iron window covers, high in the High Atlas Mountains I got to live in when I volunteered in Peace Corps Morocco in the Maternal and Child Health sector.

One thing the women I worked with always were asking for was some relief from the hard physical labor that was necessary for their and their families’ survival. I was a young woman at the time, and had not yet become trained in massage therapy, but had always loved giving and receiving backrubs from with my sisters, at camp, etc. Being a volunteer was challenging in that my job was to facilitate conversation and development of projects the people of the community wanted/needed. There was no budget and it was before Internet. It was a very grass roots situation.

There were several projects that emerged over the 2 years I served, but the most important seemed to be the informal massages I would give to the women that eased their muscles and gave them some short, but deep rest. Without formal training and with exquisite respect and love for these women and their lives, my intention came to me as the words/feelings/acts of 'Approach With Love'. More recently the concept of Radical Nurturing (a term I coined, which, to me, means care at the root/cellular level) has joined 'Approach With Love'. These are the wellspring of intention I am working with and cultivating as I co-create sessions that are specifically for each client, each time we work together."
