Jeanie L. Bussell, PhD, L.Ac., has been employed at Galter LifeCenter since 2023 and brings over 20 years of experience in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in addressing all areas of women’s health and wellness. Growing up with acupuncture and natural remedies serving as a part of medical care in her life, Jeanie understands the role that holistic therapies play in both preventing and treating diseases.

Jeanie is passionate about supporting girls and women through their life cycle: menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum to menopause and all in-between that comes with being a woman. Jeanie's work has been featured both locally and nationally on several TV programs. She frequently contributes to articles in numerous publications and co-authored the book Fully Fertile – A Holistic 12 Week Plan to Optimal Fertility. Before joining Galter Life Center, Jeanie served as the Director of Acupuncture at Pulling Down the Moon, the integrative and holistic care clinic for fertility, Tiffani Kim Institute and Women's Healthcare Group of Illinois, an Ob/GYN group.

What is the philosophy that drives your work?
Women are strong! It sounds like a cliché but I believe that supporting women of all ages in their health and wellness can lead us to a better future.

Women's health specialties:
  • Digestive support - bloating, constipation or diarrhea, acid reflux, heartburn, irritable bowel disease, etc.
  • Fertility support - natural or assisted (IUI, IVF, frozen embryos), male factor issues, etc.
  • Menopause support - hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, vaginal dryness, low libido, mood swings, etc.
  • Menstruations support - painful menstruation, irregular or no menstruation, PMS, headaches/migraines, etc.
  • Postpartum support - Insufficient lactation, mastitis, abnormal uterine bleeding, depression, caesarean recovery, etc.
  • Pregnancy support - morning sickness (nausea/vomiting), headaches, lower back pain, carpal tunnel, insomnia, fatigue, itching, hemorrhoids, constipation, heartburn, pre-birth support and threatened miscarriage, etc.
  • Other women's conditions - PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, cervical dysplasia, frequent UTIs, vaginal infections or discomfort, pelvic pain, etc.
What are your interests outside of Galter LifeCenter?
Spending times with my kids. I also love to cook and try new recipes from all over the world. My favorite workouts include Pilates and Yoga.
 
Any other interesting facts about you that you would like to share with us?
I have a Black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
