Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese health treatment which promotes natural healing and improved function. The treatment typically involves a licensed practitioner inserting fine needles at specific points in your body. This procedure stimulates the production of endorphins which can in turn reduce pain. It has shown to be effective in the prevention and treatment of a variety of health problems.

Acupuncture is a health care treatment based on the theory that pathways, known as meridians, cover the body and conduct energy or qi (pronounced “chee”). Qi is believed to help regulate the balance of the body.
Your practitioner will explain the benefits and risks of the proposed treatment to you, as well as other treatments available through another practitioner or a physician. Physician referral is not required for treatment.

Additional Information

The needles used are sterile, individually packaged and disposable. They are very thin and, unlike hypodermic needles, are solid, making insertion smooth with slight to no discomfort. Needles are usually left in place for 20 minutes, depending on the therapeutic objective.

Other modalities may be utilized depending upon the symptoms presented. These treatments include:
  • Electrostimulation
  • Moxibustion
  • Cupping
  • YNSA – a Japanese system of scalp acupuncture
  • Facial Rejuvenation (may require additional fee)
  • Bioset-Allergy Treatment
