Lactate Threshold Training 101 

Go back to school with GLC trainer Christine Cunningham (CC) and learn about lactate threshold: what it is, how it is measured, and how you can use it to maximize your training.  Perfect for endurance athletes, results-focused runners, and anyone interested in increasing their pace or achieving a PR.

Runners' Lab

Leverage the power of lactate threshold training! This 9-week program is designed for results-focused runners who are looking to increase their pace or achieve a PR. You’ll start with a classroom session to learn how to approach the various workouts and how to record the data needed to further customize your plan. Next you’ll have a lactate threshold test to determine your training prescription. You’ll receive an individualized running plan to accomplish on your own and meet weekly as a group for a coached workout of sprint, form and resisted running drills. At the end of the program your lactate threshold will be re-tested to measure your results.

Participants must have their own heart rate monitor.

Program includes:

  • 2 Lactate threshold tests (pre- and post-program)
  • Classroom session
  • 9 weeks of customized workouts to be done independently
  • 6 coached group workouts
