Philosophy that drives my work:
I am a strong proponent of meditation not only as a spiritual wellness practice but as a compassionate method for getting to know and care for the mind and body. I believe that our relationship to thoughts, feelings and memories is as tantamount to health as caring for the physical body through exercise and eating healthy foods. Through years of exploring mindfulness meditation practice, I have come to trust that it provides a strong foundation for self-discovery and understanding.

Professional focus:
My professional life, whether as a meditation teacher or mental health therapist, is rooted in providing a safe and unbiased space for each individual to learn, grow and discover. My focus is often not to be the expert in the room, but to help illuminate for my students and clients that we already hold the answers to peace and health deep within ourselves. My continued hope as a facilitator is to aid in uncovering this inherent knowledge.

My favorite quote:
“Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.”
~ Plato (I would add, “Including yourself!”)

"I think of Galter as my workout ‘home.’ No matter how many times I’ve ‘fallen away’ from my workout routine, I know that I won’t be judged when I walk back in. The emphasis is always on what you are doing today." - Jane
